Imamura Shohei’s 1966 classic finds subversive humor in the bizarre dynamics of a dysfunctional family involved in the erotic film industry. Imamura’s comic treatment of sexual taboos sparked controversy when the film was initially released, but The Pornographers has ultimately outlasted its critics.

The film will be proceeded by introductory comments and followed by a Q & A session.

Please be aware that the film deals with material of a sexually graphic nature. It is rated R. People below the age of 18 will only be admitted if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
