In a parody of earnest sex guides published as woodblock-printed books during the 17th and 18th centuries, Keisai Eisen (1790–1848) reminds viewers that nothing says “I love you” more emphatically than contortionism, the skillful use of a pair of stilts, and a ceiling-mounted hoist.
